Requirements:

Job Description:
1. Manage the extended warranty business in Malaysia.Responsible for sales efforts, training, administration and account relations directly or through proper staff management.
2. Identify, evaluate and recommend extended warranty programs to meet consumer electronic retailer and manufacturer’s needs, telecom opportunities and select financial institutions.
3. Co-ordinate with EW Underwriter(s) at the Regional or NY level on all pricing and coverage until such time as Underwriter Authority is granted at the Country level.
4. Manage the contractual set up of the administration and insurance for all clients in accordance with Company Best Practices, including Regional and Home Office Claims approval.
5. Prepare and manage a business plan by account for extended warranty in the territory.
6. Prepare, manage and report on the extended warranty budget by account for Malaysia. This applies to all aspects of the Foreign General budget, not just GPW. Month ABA( Program by-Program) Reports are required.
7. Work directly with extended warranty clients, country and regional management to develop cross-sell opportunities to extended warranty clients or from extended warranty clients.
8. Work with PL PCM, Regional EW Manager and Worldwide Account Development Manager to assure Company Best Practices are followed.These include local requirements, underwriting guidelines, (EW) Account Launch Best Practices and (EW) Account Development Best Practices.
9. Plan, develop and manage effective marketing and sales program to be used by retailers, manufacturers and financial institutions for effective account development. This includes providing guidance on Retail Selling Prices, Point of sale marketing materials, salesman compensation and accurate penetration measurement.
10. Train the retailer’s trainer for sales personnel to effectively promote and sell extended warranty.
11. Work with Claims and O&S to ensure proper documentation and reporting. Management responsibility for coordination,communication and control of all operation, and system and administrative activities for EW.
12. Identify potential problem situations and implement appropriate corrective actions.
13. Maintain good professional relationship with all extended warranty and accounts and personnel.
14. Provide market intelligence on emerging extended warranty programs from competitors.
15. Prepare all country level EW quarterly estimates. Agree with your controller what is sent to Regional MID or NY. Furnish the same numbers ( or explain differences) along with appropriate narrative to the Regional EW Manager based on the MID quarterly reporting schedule.
16. Take a pro-active role in monitoring and assisting the Local Accounting Department with any EW Client’s Receivables that go beyond the contract terms.
17. Prepare and take ownership of, the EW annual FGEN P&L budget.

Qualifications:
1. The successful candidate must have a balanced knowledge of both the insurance aspects and administration duties of large extended warranty programs. Therefore a minimum of 3 years experience in each of the following areas is desired:
• Hands on account development and account management experience at an internationally recognized administration arm of extended warranty insurer.
• Extended warranty bottom line accountability at an internationally recognized insurance company.
• Staff management.

2. In markets where no extended warranty experience is available, experience in the following areas make up the minimum requirements:
• 3 years of high volume transaction insurance experience such as Personal Lines or A&H including budgeting responsibility.
• Comprehensive understanding of the electronic retail business and financial institutions.
• Tertiary education.
