How to Tell if a Data Entry Job is a Scam

Allow me to share with you job seekers all around malaysia, that no matter where you go for interview, NEVER consider those who ask you to take out your money from your wallet and ask if you have any money for the payment of their services. my story goes..

I found this particular job from starjobs online, which states “Data Entry Part/Full time contact Pn Hanim @ 2141xxxx” i forgot the number >_

Hi all … I am one of those ppl who paid for the so-called ‘Data Entry Job’. My curiousity got the better of me and I wanted to see what this ‘Data Entry Job’. I had initially thought that it was something like keying some data, but its not.

After I paid the guy the money, which is not much, less than RM 30, I got an email, exactly like the one Shiauyin posted earlier, but in Bahasa Melayu.

What this ‘Data Entry Job’ is this. After you inform the guy of the payment you have made to his bank account, he will send you an email with some attachments on some ebook by some guy about Profiting from ClickBank and PayPal, which I don’t find anything interesting. Another attachement on Forex secrets and some other baloney.

And some template for you to ‘advertise’, meaning how to con other people. Its up to you to set how much you wanna con other people. So, it’s actually paying RM xx to get materials to con other people.

So, then you are suppose to forward the people that you managed to con the stuff you got from the guy. That’s all. Data entry job ?! I sell my stuff on eBay Malaysia better lah.

So don’t believe “DATA ENTRY JOBS”. It’s all a CON JOB.

Hmmm .. I don’t know whether it’s ethical to publish the data entry con job website. Can someone tell me that’s is okay to publish here on the forum, the website and the name with the bank account no. for the ‘DATA ENTRY JOB’ con job ? At least I will be doing some good.

I only have to pay RM20.00 into an account. Then after the verification i could get the tasks and begin enjoying the weekly payment of the tasks i done.
After i sent the email to this company…nothing was heard until today.
I am so upset abt it but luckilly i jz loss that 20 bucks compared to other victims as i am who lost in USD amount.
Pls tell your friend about the website and pass it on if possible that none of ur loves one will fall into an evil trap like me.

Just want to advice you beware of FOREX companies offering data entry positions. Actually its not, as their target is to lure us to invest in that company.I have encountered this twice.
Simptom situation is like this,You have to go short briefing, calculation exercises and few interviews.
On the last interview they’ll persuade you to invest like apply bank loan, bring your friends and etc. FOREX invesments maybe real but it got off the main point, that is we were looking for part time data entry job.
Some of you may encountered this situation so for those who not yet, just watch out OK. Till now Im still looking for part time data entry. ;p

Hi every one…i’m working around 4 year, in the time seek many of job or part time, to be cheated so many time. In direct sale, electronic toy, something MLM, work from home, selling product and etc. In my experience, i’m not say all direct sale company, but some time the company is small company, same with other direct sale will invite you go their seminar, talk so many how we can get rich, how to be millionaire…after that company gone already!!!haha…some day I seeking part time job in newspaper found it the job can work in home, just fix the part of toy can get RM20, woh…so easy! But firstly must pay the register fee RM88.00, at that time they say no anything chargers, but now no stock for me ask me wait until next stock coming, after that they say wanna giving the deposit of toy, only RM5 mah they say. But min 100 unit, if this really thing is the opportunity to earn money, that mean want to pay up RM500 for deposit, cash only no cheque no creadit card or etc. after payment they say tomorrow only can get the toys, next day they say so many people doing this job, all stock finish already, when next stock coming will call you, delay delay day by day, finally close shop, outside the shop many painting say cheater etc broke door etc, but i can’t do anything just can upset. One company is selling electric and computer product, you can get the cheaper price than market of company and sell earn profit, also the same must pay them first, for register fee and member fee, member fee is monthly renew around RM50 per month, but the process is I want sell 1 product I will pay the cost RM 1000 something for company first, but as i know the not cheaper like they say, almost same with market! Another case is some new company say new opportunity product, market is high demand ask me trade many stock can earn big profit invest few thousand, after that the product got many problem cannot sell it any more. Ah…1 company they will post in newspaper saying part time job just given flyer to do promotion RM50 per day, when start working don’t know yet, because the manager just let you easy sitting at office introduce, sitting at car doing survey, few day later, I know the real work is door to door sale! another almost same but is donation, table to table at coffee shop, street, shopping mall…this all my experience in this few year at KL, I feel many trap in city, before do the decision, do a marketing surveys, hear some infomation!!! After registering myself for data entry homebased. I was told that they employer will call me. After I call the company I was told to give them 3 more days and finally end of July 2007. Afterwards I was told the company I suppose to type was in financial problems. They will have to locate another jobs for me. PLEASE BE AWARE THERE ARE A LOT OF ADVERTISEMENTS IN THE STAR PART/FULL ADMIN WORKS,DATA ENTRY NO AGE LIMITM NO EXPERIENCE NEEDED. What they want is your fees like consultant $170.00 and so forth so be aware you do not fall prey to this. I am a victim of one.

I was looking for part time job home based and come across advertisment in newspaper. Went for the interview and asked to pay RM175 so that i can start in 2 or 3 days time. Another 2 friend of mine also did the samething. After that there was no news from the. We called n asking they are giving a lot excuse and do not want to give us back the money….. Anybody can help us? Can we make complain and to whom?

I agree with wakenabeb. We must do something about this scam company. I myself have been scammed with Top Universal Pyramic Enterprise. The thing is I didnt realize I was scammed until I came across this website. For those who got scammed let’s get together and do something about this.

I called this Sigma Platinum Sdn Bhd today (26/10/2007) and they ask me to attend an interview for outsourcing account data entry jobs in Mega Avenue 1,K.L . I would like to know if this is another scam ? Does anyone heard of this company before? Kindly advice, Thanks a lot.

we need support from others victim of fraud/scam company. We want to gather all the victim to make a petition or memorandum for further action. We have to do something and need to take first action before others been conned by these s***t companies…(maybe some of us just ignored the value of rM159.00 OR rM180.00 FOR THE FEES BUT beside that they enjoyed happily with thousands or maybe million cheated money)

now only i realized i have been cheated by GRAND PARAMOUNT ENTERPRISE. i called for an interview for part time data entry from the star. i went for interview and the guy asked me to pay 180 as guarantee that i will complete th asmt. he said he will call me nx wk to get th asmt and each asmt i will get paid 450. bulllllllshit!

what do i do now??? pls help

I encounted the same thing too. Me and my friend went there and paid RM360. I went there to ask for a refund and they were giving excuse and said they have to ask from their management first. I think it is better that you go in a group and do not let them bring you into the room and talk , just make a whole scene in outside. That was what i do that day.

i thing i one of victim…, last week i have an interview kat Top Universal pyramic Enterprise and i already pay them rm180. The person incharge me is Hafiz and the next day, someone from that co. call me… i think his name is Haikal. he tell me that some college co. around bangkok bank n kotaraya would call me next week (22.11.07).
after i read this blog i really sure that aku dah ditipu…, well, lucky coz aku dah dapat keje…

hai semua, saya salah seorang mangsa syarikat GRAND PARAMOUNT ENTERPRISE…sy pegi interview pd 15/11/07(khamis),telah bayar sebanyak rm360,sy dan kwn sy atun di interview oleh zura…katanya confirm akn dpt assignment pada keesokkan harinya,malangnya pd keesokan harinya(jumaat) sy ditemukan dgn fiona,sy hanya terima alasan yg assignement tu belum ready,dimintanya saya dtg pada hari isnin,sy minta refund duit sy pun tak dapat,katanya dia akan hubungi sy sebelum pukul 11 pg…
