Finally, we are the TOP of the top in the part time job market. (Malaysia only yar :P). Thanks to our new platform which pushed us to another level in a much faster pace. We used 15 days to make this happens after upgrading to a much user friendly platform.

I plan to have this review every month to share the growing process of this part time job community. I guess some of you might interested on knowing how this community grow in terms of traffic.

Up-to-date, 43.65% of total visitor is coming through search engines . I still remember 4 months back, search engine only source around 20% of my total incoming traffic.Up to this point, I am quite satisfy with the new record.

I am going to review in terms of search keyword against all these 3 search engines. Let’s start with the most basis keyword that part timer used to find part time job - "part time job"

There is a new job site in the town - techBeat.com.my. I got to know this site from this thread posted in Low Yat Forum. I guess we are the first blog that review them since they launch recently.

Basically, the job site have three attractive points:

• Publish your resume, CV and portfolio online under your own name - and is accessible to anyone and everyone 24hrs a day 365 days a year. And is completely free!
  • You will be given a sub domain to represent your profile. For example, I create my profile as http://AsiaPartTime.techbeat.com.my. This idea is good for Search Engine Optimizer. Next Time, you google "AsiaPartTime", there is a high possibility that my profile will appear.
    
• Secondly, to post jobs with only one click (the Submit button) without the need to register first.
  • This is a good tactic to have people to use your service without sign in first. We are going to use this concept for our next version of AsiaPartTime.com. We bring 1 step forward which is you never have to create any account with us anymore. Everything is done through email.
• Thirdly, I like their RSS feed for each category. Personally, I am a fans of RSS. Unfortunately, no many people in Malaysia know how to use RSS feed. They still prefer email. I didn’t see any place to subscribe the job updates through email like the Lina-Job from JobStreet. It is very important to provide email updates. My advice is use FeedBurners to manage the RSS Feed and the email subscription.

Today, I received a reported scam company from Ashley. He She shared his her experience on being scam by this data entry program - "Data Entry Made Easy" from Internet. Here is what he she said:

..I paid for the membership fee cost USD49.95 in order to get involve to the good paying part time job as easy as only copy and paste the data into a form. Sounds easy, right? But after I went thru every info in the member area, i realized that was only scam as the websites provided were not exsit at all. So, pls don’t get cheat by those good paying online survey or data entry jobs…

It made me curious and decided to give an review on this data entry job scam.

Firstly, I paid a visit to their website. The first entry page is a long copy sales letter which gave a clear message on what they selling. Basically, you paid USD99.95 (latest price) to register as their Data Entry Worker. Then they will introduce some data entry jobs to you.

At this point of time, I am 60% sure this is a scam. Why? Simply because it fall into one of the key point in our scam guide - Paid to work.

Coroflot is a career and community site for creative professionals. Coroflot hosts individual creative portfolios and a database of job and project openings. The thriving community that visits the site daily represents a cross-section of the global design industry-working designers, design managers, internal and external hiring professionals, business managers of design firms, marketing and product management professionals, students, and educators.

This site is recommended by my colleague who is master in web design. She got quite a number of freelance jobs from this web site. If you interested, look at her profile.

What she do is just create a profile and upload her portfolio onto it. Then, the service buyer will come and look for you if they think your works suit their taste. This website is serving international service buyer. Thus, please quote your freelance fees in USD currency.
