Job Site Review - - Part 1

image - "Asia’s No-Frills Job Site"

By looking at their tag line, they are aiming to be the "AirAsia" style of job site in Asia. AllyHunt is different from other job site in terms of products and services. They provides the basic recruitment services such as job posting, search resume and search job. If you need more advance service, then you are asked to pay extra. Just like AirAsia, they prodive you the transportation but no free-meal served.

As explained by Sinsee, AllyHunt is formed by a group of headhunters. After collecting years of headhunting experience, they decided to move on and enter into online recruitment industry. Finally, they created this clean and simple job site -

I received the invitation to review their job site and share with our community. Here is my findings on this No-Frill job site:-

Aggressive Viral Marketing

imageDo you want to win a tickets to Hong Kong? I guess everybody will interested especially Malaysian. How? Pretty easy, just share AllyHunt with your friends and families. The person with the most referrals wins the tickets. Pretty cool right? I am not sure whether eligible to participate or not since I am sharing with our community here?

By the way, this kind of promotion will create a hype in the community. It is a proven viral marketing concept - Giving freebies to spread your product in a tremendous speed.

Freelancers Board

When you creating your resume profile, you are provided an option to opt-in as a Freelancer. This is a new service which you seldom see it from any of the local job sites. It ease me from creating another resume which dedicated for freelance job. From this point, I know AllyHunt want to be evil in the recruitment industry as they are targeting Full Time Job and Freelance Job. Luckily, they have no plan to eat into part time job market, if not AsiaPartTime need to improve our defense wall :P

Employees Search

Now, employers allow to search job seeker’s brief profile without purchase any resume search license. I guess this is their free-trial service to the employers as other job sites only allow resume search when you purchase their search license.

After I looked through the search results, I realized the catch behind this free-trial service. Actually, all the searched result is very brief and most importantly, the contact of the job seeker is hidden. If I am an employer and interested on a particular job seeker, I need to pay the "Resume Database Access" license to view the job seeker’s complete profile and the resume.

Nevertheless, this marketing strategy is very effective because consumer like to get some free trial before purchase the product.

Interesting Job Tips and News Update

One of the attractive part of this job site is the way they shared the job tips and news. Do you ever see any job site have comic in their news updates? Check out their tips here, have some fun and relax while looking for jobs.
